Q&A: What are midi ringtones and how do i use them or get them onto my phone?

Question by May15: What are midi ringtones and how do i use them or get them onto my phone?
Every time i look for polyphonic ringones some of them show up as midi/polyphonic ringtones and they are the best ones that i have come across. How do i get those ringtones onto my cell phone?
I have a sprint phone it is a sanyo 8100.
