So usually I'll hear a string quartet playing and they are producing a clicking sound, I know how to make it, but is there a name for this? How is it written on the music? And can it be recreated using midi?

Solution by bkaclicking? not positive what your background is, so not positive if its a typical technique that you dont know the name for or an uncommon extended method.
