Q&A: Real difference between a MPC and a Midi MPK/MPD?

I am researching which machine to buy, a cheap Axiom 25 (midi controller with MPC pads) or an actual Akai MPC 500. I know the MPC is more expensive, and is analogue (separate from computer software).
