Q&A: any difference between a midi or a mpc?

i want to start producing real hip hop beats, i already have 2 tables and a mixer and alot of vinyl but i was deciding on buying an mpc 2000, but i heard of these other things called midi's and i was wondering if there the same thing? i know a midi is a piano and the mpc has the buttons, but is there a difference, note: i want to make beats the old fashion way, no computers, just vinyl, because classic hip hop
