My Bass player has a steinberg. How can we have a better sustain?

Question by Car Racer: My Bass player has a steinberg. How can we have a better sustain?
We have a problem getting a more solid sound out of the bass. Everyone tells me that it is due to the Carbon material that the steinberg is made from, but rather than buying another bass, what else can we do for better sustain?
