One of acts that suprised me during The Hague Jazz was the one of José Angel Hevia, an Asturian bagpiper and flautist. If you think the bagpipe is a boring and oldfashioned instrument, check this musician out! He isn't a traditionalist or a purist. Rather, the risk-taking Hevia combines Scottish/Celtic elements with everything from pop, rock, hip-hop, and new age to Spanish and Middle Eastern music.
