What is MIDI output on a sound card?

Question by Blah B: What is MIDI output on a sound card?
My friend wants me to build him a rig with a sound card that can output "MIDI" but i'm not really acquainted with such an output, is a standard thing that all sound cards have?
Does this sound card output MIDI?

Answer by David NProbably. Many Soundblaster and Audigys have built-in hardware support for midi out. Otherwise it has to be done by software. You get that software with Windows,
